THE INCREDIBLE CAREER OF A DREAMY KID FROM LYON WHO HAS EXPERIENCED EVERYTHING IN FOOTBALL

In fifty years of professional soccer, Bernard Lacombe has experienced everything. The years of passion and dreams when, at the age of ten, he said he would one day become the center-forward of Olympique Lyonnais; the years of progression at the highest level with Serge Chiesa and his idol Fleury Di Nallo; the summits with the unforgettable 1982 World Cup and then the victory of the French team at the Euro 84; the undivided domination of Claude Bez's Bordeaux in the 80s...

At the end of his playing career, in 1987, he joined the young president of OL, Jean-Michel Aulas, whose ambition was to make his club, then in D2, a European great. Within his club of heart, keeping the confidence of his president for more than twenty years, Bernard Lacombe has been a coach, sporting director, adviser, in charge of recruitment... Playing a decisive role in the golden years of the OL, he will promote the arrival of Sonny Anderson and Juninho (current sporting director), or the emergence of a certain Karim Benzema.

"My career has been exceptional. I had the chance to live my childhood dream, and then never lose my passion for soccer, staying close to the field all my life. What could be more beautiful?

Bernard LACOMBE, monument of Lyon soccer, but also three times winner of the French championship with Bordeaux, winner of the Euro 84 with the French team, Bernard Lacombe is a living memory of French soccer of these last fifty years. He tells his story in this rich autobiography for the first time.
